Classic Shakshouka

Simple one pan Middle Eastern dish that is full of flavor. Perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Eggs
  • 4 Tomatoes
  • 1 Onion
  • 1/4 tsp Garlic Paste
  • 1/2 Red Pepper
  • 1/2 Yellow Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne
  • 1 tsp Soy Sauce
  • Parsley
  • Salt

Instructions
 

  • Heat the pan, add olive oil.
  • Add the onions and fry until golden brown.
  • Add garlic and let it brown.
  • Add the tomatoes, black pepper, cumin, paprika, cayenne, soy sauce and salt. Cover the pan and let the tomatoes stew for 3 minutes.
  • Add the yellow and red peppers, let them cook for 2 minutes.
  • Create a well, where the egg should be placed. Crack the egg and carefully, without breaking the yolk, place the yolk in the well.
  • Cover the pan again and let the egg cook for 3-5 minutes. (Depending on how well done you like your yolk)
  • Garnish with parsley.
  • Serve with baguettes/samoon bread.
