Yes, you read it right…baked. Mutura (also known as African Sausage) is a delicacy that majority enjoy. Mostly eaten in the evening, grilled by the local butcher, it is something that I personally will never stop eating. Heck, I eat it everyday.
Other than the basic mutura that has cow meat, there is also the pork mutura which is so good! If you have not yet eaten, I suggest you stop over Juja and have a sample. You will not be disappointed, I promise.
So anyway, since I did not have a grill and really wanted to eat some mutura, I decided to try baking it. You can almost barely tell the difference! Took some time to get ready but the results were 100%.
This recipe requires no extra ingredients other than the mutura itself and oil.
Pre-heat the oven to 200 degrees.
Oil the baking tray and add the mutura. Oil it up.
Put the mutura in the oven and let it cook at intervals of 15 minutes turning the mutura until it is evenly cooked.
Remove and serve while hot with ugali and kachumbari :)
