Lemon Garlic Whipped Feta

April 29, 2021

I am so stoked to be sharing this recipe because I love making dips! Mainly because I find it so hard to have tortilla chips by themselves. Another reason, who just eats dry tortilla chips? SPICE IT UP guuurl! I have shared my Charred Tomato Dip, now I want to share this Lemon Garlic Whipped Feta.

Let’s start from the basics….

What is Feta?

Feta cheese is salty, tangy, crumbly and creamy. It is also slightly pungent. The texture of the feta cheese varies from the milk that was used (cow, sheep, goat). Feta can last for a long time and can also be stored in the refrigerator. To make it last longer, preserve it in it’s own brine.

Apart from having feta in greek salad, you can also have in pasta, pizza, and also as a dip, especially this Lemon Garlic Whipped Feta.

The Lemon Garlic Whipped Feta has the right notes of tangy and garlicky. I preferred to grill my garlic because I am not the biggest fan of raw garlic. It’s a bit too much for me. But if you are one who can have it raw, it also works. My friends and I are currently planning on a potluck so I can’t wait to surprise them with this! Even for someone who isn’t a fan of cheese, feta has a toned down taste so you will end up loving it!

Do not forget that feta is salty so when making the dip, try as much as possible to omit the salt or you might overdo it. If it is too salty, add lemon juice to down the saltiness.

I had made a batch for my family, WHO ARE VERY PICKY eaters and they finished it all! I actually expected to eat it by myself but oh well! The more the merrier. Next time I have to make a second batch because it is clearly a banger for the fam!
