La Mesa – Mövenpick Restaurant Review

March 23, 2019

I had the opportunity of going to La Mesa which is in Mövenpick. It’s on the 15th floor of the establishment.

La Mesa is a Spanish Restaurant which majors in Latino Flavors. It has beautiful ambiance and the music is perfect and the view is even better. Perfect place for dates.

From Monday to Friday, it is open from 4pm – 11pm, Friday from 4pm – 1pm and Saturday from 2pm – 1am.

The menu has a key which is makes it easier to navigate through the menu. The key shows if the meal contains shellfish, fish, dairy, peanuts, eggs, gluten and pork.

I had the Paella Valenicana which is a rice dish that has an assortment of meats: calamari, prawns, chicken and fish. You may think the portion is small but I assure you that you will get full in no time.

The Tech Tog had the Pescado Frito Mixto which is mixed fried sea food with a side of lemon mayo.

We had selected the meals from the Tapas menu during the Happy Hour (4 pm – 7 pm) where if you buy 2 meals, you can choose a third dish and the one with the lowest cost will be free!!! So like the normal chicken lover that I am, I chose the Alas de Pollo Mambo which is simply Succulent Glazed Spicy Chicken Wings with Tangy Coriander & Chili Sauce.

Since it was Happy Hour ( 2 for the price of 1 ), we ordered the Passion and Basil Martini which had vodka, honey syrup, lime juice, basil, passion pulp and egg whites. The egg whites are optional since not everyone likes eggs. I decided to have it in my drink which made it taste even more amazing.

The other drink was Blue Crush which had gin, lemon juice, blue curaco, pineapple juice and topped with sprite. This drink is a bit stronger than the Passion and Basil Martini but it was so damn good!

The food is very affordable. The total cost of the meals and drinks was Kshs. 4,500. You can get the menu here to see the varieties of dishes they have.

The service was exceptional, the staff were friendly and were always on the look out if you need any help. This is a place I would totally rate 5 stars and would come back again.

LOVE IT? SHOW SOME LOVE!!:
